My Approach to Storytelling Through Photography

Absolutely. My approach is rooted in documentary storytelling, and I’m known for creating refined editorial portraits with my couples, but that doesn’t mean the important family photographs are forgotten.
Before your wedding, I’ll work with you to create a considered list of the family and group photographs that matter most. I’ll also help you shape your wedding timeline so we can choose the best time to capture them without interrupting the natural flow of your day or keeping you away from your guests for too long.
On the day, I’ll keep everything calm, organised and efficient, giving direction where it’s needed so everyone looks and feels their best.
The same applies to your couple portraits. Rather than disappearing for a long photoshoot, we’ll usually create these in short pockets throughout the day, working with the changing light and atmosphere while allowing you to remain part of your celebration.
For me, documentary photography isn’t about never stepping in. It’s about knowing when to observe, when to guide and when to create something beautiful, while making sure you still have the time and space to actually live your wedding day.

For most of your wedding, I’m quietly observing and capturing the people, emotion and moments as they naturally unfold. When it comes to portraits, I’ll offer calm, confident direction so you never have to wonder what to do in front of the camera.
We’ll create those more refined, editorial photographs in short pockets throughout the day, without taking you away from the people and celebration you’ve brought together. The result is a gallery that feels polished and romantic, but still unmistakably like you and your wedding.

Most of my couples tell me they’re not naturally comfortable in front of a camera, so you’re definitely not alone. You don’t need to know how to pose, where to put your hands or what looks good. That’s my job.
For most of the day, you won’t need to think about the camera at all. I’ll simply capture what’s happening naturally around you. When we step away for your portraits, I’ll give you calm, confident direction so you feel comfortable and know exactly what to do, while still leaving enough space for the photographs to feel natural and like you.
I never want you to feel as though you’re performing for the camera. I want you to be present with each other, enjoy your wedding and trust me to create photographs in which you both look incredible and still recognise yourselves.

Absolutely. So much thought goes into the details of a wedding, and I believe they deserve to be photographed with the same intention as the moments themselves.
The dress hanging before it’s worn. The flowers before they’re carried. The tables before the room fills. Your stationery, jewellery, perfume and all the considered details that make the celebration unmistakably yours.
I photograph these elements beautifully and intentionally, but always as part of the wider story. Because years from now, your gallery shouldn’t just remind you of who was there. It should bring you back to how the entire day looked, felt and came together.

I’m based in Cheshire, but location has never defined where I work. Wherever your wedding takes place, my approach remains the same: considered documentary storytelling, refined editorial imagery and a collection that feels completely connected to you and the place you chose to celebrate.
For destination weddings, I offer a dedicated collection with all travel and accommodation included. There are never any hidden travel charges or unexpected extras. The price you’re quoted is the price you pay, so everything is taken care of from the very beginning.

Your photographs will be delivered in a beautifully curated online gallery, thoughtfully arranged to take you back through your wedding from beginning to end. Every image is individually edited in my signature true to life, timeless style, with your complete collection delivered in both colour and black and white.
For couples who want something tangible, I also offer beautifully handcrafted wedding albums, designed to become part of your home and eventually your family history.
Depending on your chosen collection, your story can also be captured on 35mm film and through a Highlights Film. These add another layer to the way your wedding is remembered, from the unmistakable character of analogue film to the movement and atmosphere of seeing those moments come to life again.
